I’m not sure if anyone has paid particular attention, but I like to try out sex toys that are different than your run of the mill missle. I don’t like smooth hard straight surfaces. I want something that has nubs or bumps, waves or bulbs, vibes or twisters, ticklers or pokers… I want something out of the ordinary. I like my sex toys to be weird or wild!
The Triathlon caught my eye because it’s a toy designed to stimulate the entire vulva (meaning it stimulates the clitoris AND the other outer parts of the vagina, such as the labia). It consists of a base and has three interchangeable stimulators that twist and snap into place. The base takes two triple ‘A’ batteries and has a dial to adjust the vibrations from low to high. The three stimulators offer different sensations. One has two swells in the center to fit between the labia, one has numbs all over the surface of it, and one has a small protrusion which I assume is to penetrate.
The first thing I noticed about the Triathlon is that it’s a bit noisy. It makes the usual noise most vibrators do, but it isn’t as quiet as some of the other toys I’ve tried of late. Next, I was a bit disappointed at the hard surface of the toy. It is made out of plastic and there is absolutely no give. I think I’ve been babied by all the silicone toys I have, and now I’m not as inclined to enjoy hard plastic.
I did enjoy the way this toy vibrates more than just the clitoris, especially during the “foreplay” warmup to orgasm. I find I really enjoy having everything stimulated before I’m in the mood for a lot of clit contact. The stimulator with the nubs all over it felt pretty darn great, but I wasn’t a fan of the one that had the stubby protrusion on it. If you used it to penetrate, everything else just kind of rubbed wrong. The other stimulator, the one with the two bumps also felt pretty good.
I think this toy is pretty good for a warmup massage in the playtime that leads up to more direct clitoral stimulation. If you really enjoy having your vulva vibrated then this toy will provide something most toys completely miss. It’s just too bad it doesn’t come made in a firm silicone!
